Chris LaFargue

Vice President of Strategy

Chris joined LaFargue as VP of Strategy in 2025. He advises on vision-setting, improving business processes, and crafting strategic partnerships across government, private, and civil-society sectors.

Chris brings more than 25 years of experience to his work — first as a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM, and then as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer serving in senior leadership roles across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. His postings included Libya, Iraq, Madagascar, Thailand, Bangladesh and the West Bank–Gaza missions. In those roles, he led diverse teams and large-scale programs in economic growth, democracy and governance, clean energy, disaster response and post-conflict stabilization. Most recently he served as USAID Representative to Libya, heading a multi-sector team advancing economic governance, entrepreneurship and independent media.

Before his government career, Chris supported investment-promotion and economic-growth programs at PwC and IBM, and earlier in his career he taught language in Japan. At LaFargue, Chris advises clients on business process improvement and designing partnerships that bridge government, business and civil society. He holds an M.A. from Georgetown University in Communication, Culture and Technology; a B.A. in French from Louisiana State University; and a teaching degree from the Université de Lausanne, Switzerland. More recently he completed graduate coursework at Singapore Management University in tri-sector collaboration. A proud Louisiana native, Chris and his spouse are raising their son in French to carry forward his cultural heritage.
